Light Upon Light Foundation was established to ensure that Arabic culture, language, and literature remain vibrant, accessible, and celebrated — not as relics of the past, but as living forces shaping the future.
Our Story
Born from a love of language
Light Upon Light Foundation was founded by a community of educators, writers, and cultural advocates who recognized a growing gap: the richness of Arabic language and heritage was underrepresented in digital spaces, educational curricula, and mainstream media. Stories were being lost. Voices were going unheard.
We came together with a shared conviction — that Arabic culture is not a niche interest but a universal inheritance. From the poetry of Al-Mutanabbi to the oral traditions of the Levant, from the manuscripts of Timbuktu to the diaspora voices of today, Arabic expression spans continents, centuries, and countless human experiences.
Our work is rooted in that breadth. We build programs, partnerships, and platforms that make Arabic culture accessible to children learning to read, to families preserving their heritage, to scholars and storytellers, and to anyone curious about one of the world's great civilizations.
